Keep your certification current and stay ready if an emergency happens.
From what we see in training rooms, first aid skills fade if you don’t use them. If your certification is nearing expiry, the right course helps you stay compliant and confident.
At MHI Training Master, we’ve spent more than 16 years delivering first aid refresher training in Singapore. Our refreshers are practical, accredited, and time-efficient.

Why First Aid Refresher Training is Important
Medical knowledge and techniques change with time.
And in Singapore, many roles still require a valid first aid certificate.
Refresher training helps with both — keeping your qualification current and rebuilding confidence with CPR and AED use.
Certifications Do Expire
Most first aid certificates have a validity period. The exact validity depends on the course, but eventually, they need to be renewed to ensure compliance.
Skills Fade Faster than People Expect
In practice, skills fade over time. There are many participants of our refresher courses who haven’t had any practice in doing CPR or AED since their initial certification.
However, these skills can quickly be reacquired with guided training. Many participants find that they remember everything after just a few practice rounds. This reinforces their competence and confidence.
When is the Best Time to Take a First Aid Training Refresher Course?
The Typical Renewal Timeline
We get this question every week — someone calls and says: “My certificate expired last month. Can I still take the refresher?”
Here’s how it goes:
-
Renew before your certificate expires.
-
For most SRFAC-accredited courses, there's a 3-month grace period after expiry. If your certificate expired recently, you may still qualify.
-
Don’t wait too long.
-
When a Full Course May Be Required
If your certificate is no longer valid after the grace period, then you have to retake the full course.

How Our Refresher First Aid Training Works
1
Pick the Course That Matches Your Cert
Check your current certification to see which course requires renewal. Once you identify the certificate that needs renewal, select the corresponding refresher course and choose a suitable training date.
2
Practise and Assessment
During the refresher courses, you will get hands-on practice in performing CPR, using an AED, and responding to realistic emergency scenarios such as choking or severe bleeding. You will be assessed based on your practical demonstrations. Many participants find that their skills return quickly with guided practice.
3
Get Your Updated Certification
Upon successful completion of the course and being deemed competent, your certification will be renewed. You will receive your updated certificate a few days after.
How Much Does a First Aid Refresher Course Cost in Singapore?
The cost of a first aid refresher course in Singapore depends on the type of certification you are renewing and the training provider.
You can expect the following prices:

-
Child First Aid Refresher: $200
-
Occupational First Aid Refresher: $270
Courses that include CPR + AED components or workplace-specific modules may be priced slightly higher due to additional training requirements.
SkillsFuture & Funding Support
For eligible Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, many refresher courses are SkillsFuture-eligible, which means participants will have to pay reduced out-of-pocket costs.

Book Your Refresher Course Today
First aid certifications have an expiry date for a reason. That’s because skills can fade, and guidelines also change over time. In case of an emergency, it is better to be well-equipped and certified so you can respond effectively.
The good news is that renewing your certification does not mean starting from the beginning. In a refresher course, you will be able to revisit your learnt skills like CPR, AED usage, and emergency response, through practical, hands-on training.
If your certificate is already due for renewal, then simply choose a refresher course that matches your certificate and select a date that works for you. The booking process takes only a few minutes.

When is the best time to take a first aid refresher course?
Ideally, before your certificate expires. All nationally accredited certificates are valid for 2 years. So, check your expiry date and book your slot a few weeks before it expires.

Most of our SRFAC-accredited courses have a grace period of three months after expiry, during which you can renew them through the refresher course. If the grace period has passed, you will have to retake the full course.

The course is not physically demanding for most participants. You will practise CPR, participate in hands-on drills, and work through realistic scenarios.
