First Aid Course Singapore
SkillsFuture Claimable
MHI Training has been conducting accredited first aid courses in Singapore since 2008.
More than 10,000 participants—from office staff and site supervisors to preschool educators and parents—have completed certification with MHI Training.
Certification is conducted in accordance with current Singapore regulatory and accreditation requirements. And all courses are recognised by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC) and comply with Ministry of Manpower (MOM) requirements.
Training includes practical scenarios based on situations commonly encountered in workplaces and public settings. We prepare participants to respond appropriately during an actual emergency.
What Are First Aid Courses and Who Really Needs Them?
Most participants enrol because certification is required for their role, licence, or workplace compliance. An HR manager flags it for compliance. A preschool operator needs it for licensing. And a coach discovers it’s mandatory for NROC registration.
The practical value, however, extends well beyond compliance requirements.
First aid training prepares you to respond during medical emergencies – a heart attack, a choking incident, a severe bleeding episode. These skills help stabilise a casualty until professional medical help arrives.
Many cardiac arrests occur outside hospital settings, often in homes or public spaces.
In many cases, the person affected is someone familiar. He or she may be a loved one, a coworker, or a neighbour.

Can You Take First Aid Courses Online? (Blended Learning)
Yes. Courses follow a blended learning format.
SRFAC certification requires completion of both theory and practical assessment components. You need to prove your skills in person to meet SRFAC standards.
The structure includes:
-
Online Theory: Complete your theory sessions in the comfort of your home.
-
In-Person Practical: Enroll in a class where you get hands-on experience in performing CPR, using an AED, and relieving choking.
To get certified in our first aid courses, you must pass the entire course. Certification is issued only after both components have been successfully completed and assessed.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a first aid course last?
Course duration depends on the certification level. CPR+AED are completed within half a day (4 hours). Standard First Aid typically runs 16–24 hours, while Child First Aid and Occupational First Aid extend closer to 20–23.5 hours due to additional practical components. Refresher courses are shorter.
How long is the certification valid?
Under SRFAC accreditation guidelines, certificates remain valid for two years.
What’s the typical course fee?
The full fees for programs range between 100 and 300 dollars. After government subsidies or SkillsFuture Credit, many eligible Singapore Citizens pay significantly less.
Are there free first aid courses available?
Not entirely, but if you are eligible for subsidies as well as SkillsFuture, you will be able to do the course for $0. It effectively becomes free for many Singapore Citizens.
Which course should my workplace choose?
For standard office environments, Standard First Aid is usually sufficient. Ministry of Manpower requires construction and marine and manufacturing companies to hire trained Occupational First Aiders for their workplace. The Early Childhood Development Agency requires childcare centers to train their staff in Child First Aid certification.
What’s the difference between Standard and Occupational First Aid?
Standard First Aid covers common emergency scenarios including cardiac arrest, choking, burns, fractures and severe bleeding. Occupational First Aid extends this training to industrial trauma, machinery accidents and hazardous workplace environments.
Can SkillsFuture Credit be used for a refresher course?
Yes, the MySkillsFuture portal shows the refresher course has registration eligibility during the time of registration.
What does blended learning mean for first aid training?
Blended learning allows you to complete theory modules online first. You then attend a practical class in person where you must demonstrate what you learned. You are not certified unless you pass the entire course. You must demonstrate your skills in performing CPR, using an AED, bandaging, choking and assessments.
Are MHI Training’s courses accredited?
Yes. Courses are accredited by SRFAC and recognised by MOM, ECDA, and SportSG/NROC, with ISO certification in place for quality assurance.
